1985 Courcouronnes (F)

His acrylic marker runs across the paper. There is no apparent order in its frantic course, no aim to produce a ‘beautiful’ piece of work. The trace of his marker follows his whim, which changes constantly: here, an ode to the glory of the beauty of nurses, there, mathematical calculations, additions, multiplications and, to populate empty spaces, crosses, circles, sinuous, intermingling lines. The result is a festival of shapes in the middle of an extravaganza of colour, with no regard to aesthetics, and yet the whole is remarkably harmonious: a very refreshing emerging body of work.
