He always shows a cheerful mood, though at times it seems to be a heavy burden. His art is just like that! At first glance, we see the bright colours, groups of people who appear to be completely at ease! This is an illusion: the reality is more complex! Each of his figures seems to have been marked by life, scars are visible, expressions are sometimes blank, the sky is rarely limpid, and the blue is electric. Jean-Jacques’s world is no bed of roses..
